Tridinos

Government

The city of Tridinos is one of the four free-states of the Shattered Isles, making it one of the few cities completely independent from any form of higher government. The highest position of power in Tridinos, as with all the free-states, is the Magistrate. The Magnate rules from the city of Tridinos itself, as well as holds control over the surrounding islands. Historically, Tridinos has had a more firm governmental structure than the other free-states, with cities like Kasala and Rajhad having a more anarchistic form of rule. This has been attributed to the defensive positioning of the city along the Split Mountains along with the city's formal armada.

Defences

Famous for their impressive armada, Tridinos boasts the largest naval fleet since the imperial armada at the height of the Empire. Given the high number of pirates that call the Shatter Isles home the free-states had two choices, submit to the seafaring crooks or be destroyed, but the Tridinosi took a different path. In the wake of the Second Ivenan Civil War, the magistrate of Tridinos at the time, instead of banishing the Ivenan soldiers that occupied the city as the other free-states did, the magistrate payed any remaining soldiers to stay and fight beneath the banner of Tridinos. These trained soldiers trained new soldiers and this became the basis for the infamous Tridinosi armada that is known to the modern day.

Industry & Trade

The Tridinosi are famed for their highly profitable slave trade. While slavery has been deemed illegal in most of the lands, both the Free-States of the Shattered Isles and the Principality of Mortem both thrive on the foundation of slavery. Tridinos is the second largest slaver city in Dremlia, right behind the Mortem capital city of Decuss. Other than slaves, the Tridinosi are known for their skill in combat, with many of the most expensive mercenaries in Dremlia coming from the city.
