The Trinitiry Organization in Dremlia [Old] | World Anvil

The Trinitiry

Faith, an important part of the daily lives of all those that live in Dremlia. The largest of these faiths is called the Trinitiry and is worshiped by members of every race, in all of the lands, though Humans make up the bulk of the followers. The official religion was founded some time around the year 1000 CA, though the official stance of the Trinitiry is that their faith goes as far back as the first Humans. The official religion of every Human kingdom is the Trinitiry, a sanctum in every large city in the lands, making the Trinitiry one of the most influential organizations in all of Dremlia. Large sweeping temples and shrines, in honor of the gods, the Trinitiry also holds a large portion of the wealth in the lands, but they are also responsible for hundreds of social programs aimed towards helping the less fortunate. The Trinitiry is known as a source of strength, hope, and guidance to people all over Dremlia, from the Emperor Ocean to the Shattered Isles, the Trinitiry is there.

Priesthood

  • Prolocutor: In all of Dremlia, only three men or women at a time can claim the title of Prolocutor. The Prolocutors are the leaders of the Trinitiry faith, believed to have direct communion with the gods. A Prolocutor retains their position until their death, new candidates are put forth by the remaining Prolocutors, and voted on by the Beholders. The Prolocutors are consider three of the most powerful people in all of Dremlia.
  • Beholder: Chosen by a vote amongst the standing Prolocutors, there are nine Beholders at any given time. The Beholders are spread out amongst the eight lands, one in each with the ninth Beholder known as the Walking Beholder, traveling the lands to some of the smaller villages. The Beholders are responsible for voting upon the next Prolocutors from candidates that are often selected from amongst the Beholders themselves.
  • Attender: The Attenders are responsible for overseeing large regions of the faithful with often dozens of sanctums under their purview. Attenders select the Envoys, and legitimize them as stewards of the faithful. Attenders also decide where best to send the Envoys and where or where not to build new sanctums.
  • Envoy: The lowest authority of the priesthood, yet most numerable and arguably most important facet, are the Envoys. These men and woman are in charge of the daily needs of the sanctums and those who belong to those sanctums. There are usually anywhere from one to three Envoys to a sanctum, with one being the Head Envoy if there are multiple. Envoys have day-to-day interactions with the common folk, attending to their needs and counseling their questions and fears.
