The most unique property of red-gold is its extreme aptitude for conducting magical energy. When before, the only material known to conduct magic as well was Dragon bones, red-gold was just as good and much more plentiful than the quickly dwindling resource.
History & Usage
Discovery
Red-Gold was first discovered by Mortemite farmers, upon the banks of the Vita-Morte River. Once brought to the attention of Princess Kyriis LeVane, she invest much manpower into panning as much of the newly discovered resource from the river's depths. The discovery of red-gold was single-handedly responsible for the economic rise of the Principality of Mortem.
Everyday use
Red-Gold is most often used in the creation of magical items. The magical staffs used to direct and control the magical energies of non-Elven mages are most often made of red-gold. Talismans and enchanted items usualy incorporate some amount of red-gold as it helps the magic within these items to remain securely contained within. Lastly, the Aurian Credit, the currency used all over the lands of Dremlia, utilizes red-gold in the 'red credit' the most valuable of the four kinds of Aurian Credit.
