Before her death she was considered the world's foremost leading researcher on Dire Bears. Unfortunately she was considered a rather uninteresting author, and though she published hundreds of books in her life, few were ever read.

Hunting Patterns of Dire Bears & Their Environmental Impact

Despite the rather aggressive behavior exhibited by these majestic beasts, it is remarkable to note the incredible patience they have while hunting. I have observed a Dire Bear stalking their quarry for no less than seven hours, waiting for the perfect time to strike. This lends itself to the incredible intelligence of these creatures, being able to discern when their prey will be most susceptible to attack, thus allowing the Dire Bear to burn the least amount of their energy in the attack. In the harsh cold climates of the central Northlands, the need to conserve as much energy as possible is of paramount importance. I have yet to observe a hunter as singularly cunning as the Dire Bear.
