Conservatory of Mages
Structure
Head Mage: In charge of their respective magis, responsible for overseeing the preceptors so as to prevent cruel teaching methods or favoritism. The Head Mage is also in charge of choosing new preceptors when needed from amongst the most masterful acolytes. Every Head Mage is given a seat upon the Council of Head Mages, which only ever convenes to discuss high-level magical based threats.
Preceptor: Hand chosen by the Head Mage, preceptors are those who are in charge of teaching the acolytes and initiates. Preceptors are those few mages who have mastered their respective school of magic and are capable of instructing others in said school. They often do not leave their magis, living and practicing their craft within the grounds of the academy.
Acolyte: Every preceptor usually choose about two to five especially skilled initiates to study directly beneath them, these are the acolytes. The acolytes are allowed the opprotunity to assist a preceptor in their practice, and even sometimes their instruction of the initiates. Acolytes are often sent from their magis by their preceptor for various reasons, from conducting research, procuring a rather rare spell ingredient, or any kind of mysterious whim.
Initiate: When a mundane person wishes to study the craft of a mage they must first become an initiate. The initiate are those mages that have only just began their studies, and have a long way to go until they reach their full potential. Initiates are taught by the preceptors, or in certain circumstances, even acolytes.
Public Agenda
The Conservatory of Mages was formed when a group of Humans wanted to master the forces of magic in the world. As the study of magic is one of the most dangerous pursuits the the Conservatory aims to give those wishing to learn a safe space to do so. The main goal of the Conservatory is to prevent the chaos that comes with the unchecked use of magic by educating as many people in their pursuit of power as they can. While many mages prefer to remain within the Magises once their education is complete, a mage is free to do with their abilities what they wish.
