Black-steel Material in Dremlia [Old] | World Anvil

Black-steel

Properties

Physical & Chemical Properties

Black-steel, so called for its raven color, is one of the most deadly materials in all the lands. If even a sliver of this metal gets into the bloodstream of a Human they will be dead within minutes. Even the largest of creatures can be felled by black-steel. While no verifiable records exist, according to legend, it is said that black-steel is the only known thing able to kill a Dragon Lord. Death due to poisoning via black-steel is incredibly painful for the moments before death. It causes the blood to become extremally hot and even burn away at the very veins within the body.

History & Usage

Everyday use

No new amounts of black-steel have been mined since the death of the last Dragon Lord. It is theorized that black-steel was the product of the magical essence of dead Dragon Lords combining with natural iron deposits within the ground over a period of millennia.

Distribution

Law & Regulation

All existing weaponry made from black-steel was cataloged and collected by the Union of Keepers at the behest of the Aurian Empire in the first century of the Golden Age. This was to prevent the deadly metal from being used irresponsibly by those with sinister intent wishing to cause undue harm. In all realms, except for the Free States of the Shattered Isles, the possession of black-steel is an illegal offense, punishable by law.
