Dragon Hunter
Dragon Hunters, often reffered to simply as Hunters, are large game hunters that specialize in hunting Dragons. Hunters are usualy contracted to hunt a specific dragon or dragons, but there are some larger groups and communities who will tun organizations of Hunters similar to a coroperation.
Most Dragon Hunters have to travel for their hunts. Where the dragons go, the Hunters go also. Some hunts will lead Hunters to go miles accross mountians, rivers, and other dangerous lands. Dragons travel and migrate often, dragging hunters along with them.
Career
Qualifications
Hunters can be anyone who has a good shot. Often they train to be good marksmen, but occasionally Hunter will have the natural talent need for the job. Most Hunters train for years on other game before he/she looks at hunting dragons.
Career Progression
Most Hunters are aprenticed, or trained by a more experinced Hunter. Some are self trained, but apprentices have the advantage of learning secrets of the trade from their master. Most apprentices start off by shadowing their master, not hunting, but watching and learning. Apprentices are supposed to be silent observers.
Not too long after starting, their master may allow the apprentice to hunt small game. The master will teach them the best way to kill a dragon in one or two shoots using the smaller dragons. The master may also have the apprentice set up small dragon traps, and teach the apprentice about each trap and what its ment for.
Gradually, the apprentice will be allowed to hunt larger and larger targets. Finally, the apprentice will graduate and become a full Dragon Hunter. Apprentices will usually graduate when he kills a difficult target their master has assigned them by themselves and without extra help. Once an apprentice has graduated, he will go off on his own.
Dragon Hunters are usually all seen as having the same skills in the public eye, but some Hunters can rise to fame through dangerous feats or taking down a difficult dragon. Some Hunters will become famous after they have slayed a dragon that has been devastating a community, although usually Hunters are hired to do this. Hunters like to say that the peak of any Hunter's career will be slaying one of the mega-giants that led the world destruction.
