Wisdom of the Web

Wisdom of the web is a colourless elixir with a bitter taste which transforms the consumer into a spider whilst providing some mental clarity. Given that the transformative effect has a tendency to outlast the mental benefits, this is technically considered a poison, though some use it for meditative purposes.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

A creature that consumes this elixir gains the following effects:

• Fortify wisdom by 1d4 up to a maximum of 10 for 1hr
• Transform into a spider for 1d4 hours or until HP is reduced to 0

Manufacturing process

Chopped wolfsbane is placed in a glass jar and covered with alcohol. The jar is left in a dark, cold place for the majority of the brewing process. It is then shaken and strained to produce the elixir. Due to the bitter taste, many choose to sweeten or flavour the elixir. Fear of permanent transformation has also led to a convention of diluting the elixir before use.
