This is peculiar for a wine, to be so unpalatable, but the reason is that it is not a concoction meant for drinking. Seer's wine is used for scrying, not for consumption. In fact, one of its constituent ingredients is the honest, and consuming the wine also means ingesting the poison within this notorious plant.
