Destroying Angel

Destroying angel is one of the most toxic mushrooms identified. These white, unassuming mushrooms are often mistaken for similar-looking edible mushrooms, leading to the demise of many inexperienced gatherers. Their symbiotic relationships with particular trees mean that they typically grow on the edges of woodlands, but are capable of growing in grassy meadows and gardens if the right trees are nearby.
Destroying angel is associated with air, hence their name.

Cultural Significance and Usage

Law & Regulation

In many woodland settlements it is illegal to harvest destroying angels, and many foolish mushroom gatherers who have unknowingly harvested it have been subjected to compulsory re-education to ensure they do not make the same mistake again.
There are very rare exceptions to this law, whereby certain clerics and cultists may be granted a permit to use destroying angels for fertility rites.
