This large predatory avian has a wing span of over 30ft and a standing height of 5ft once landed. Its large and long hooked beak shows it as an avid carnivore, using its large size and intimidating form to chase predators off their kills. Its large strong legs giving it an advantage in the air or on the ground. Its name comes from the silver frosting of its feathers that become denser at its extremities.
