Realgar

This bright beautifully red crystal is a soft mineral. When melted the gem releases arsinic and sulphr as well as a bluish flame.
When powdered into dust and used in fireworks and signal flares it creates a bright white smoke and flame.
It can also be used for killing pests by sprinkling it around their food sources.
When mixed with waters Realgar is also used for removing hair from hides for the leathering process, as well as tinting the leather's a deep reddish color when stretched to dry.
It's powder can also be used to give dyes a deep reddish orange colour.
