Parry
The skill or ability to use your weapon to move an enemies attack away from you.
When an opponent makes a succesful melee hit against your character and you have taken no other quick or defensive actions, then you may declare a parry. To make a succesfull parry you must make a attack roll with your weapon against the opponents weapon, if you then had a larger number of successes then your opponent you have succesfuly parried, if your opponent had a larger number of successes on the original attack, then their attack goes through.
Example: A bandit has a Body Stat of 42 and rolls a 31 to strike David meaning he had a total of succesful ranks of 1. (42 - 31 = 11 = 10+1 is 1 full rank of success). David then makes a parry attempt, David has a Body Stat of 31 and rolls a 07 meaning he had a total of 2 succesful ranks. (31 - 07 = 24 = 10+10+4 is 2 full ranks of success) meaning David is succesfull in parrying the attack of the bandit, and takes no damage.
