A feline predator of various rocky mountinous terrain, the Puma comes to about two and a half feet at the shoulder. These large cats are silent predators, sneaking up to take their prey down from behind. Their name changes from region to region, Mountain lion, puma, cougar, and catamount. They are solitary hunters and travel large swaths of territory.
