Marigold
Calendula Officinalis
Sparsely branched stems with oblong leaves that are hairy on both sides. Thick flower heads with multiple petals of bright orangeish yellow coloring.
Pot Marigold, Common Marigold, Ruddles, Mary's Gold, Scotch Marigold
The flowers are edible and often given color to salads.
The flowers can also be made into a poultice to help heal shallow cuts and prevent infection.
