A spirit from the waters of Libya, these creatures are mostly benevolent snd help the farmers upon their banks. Sometimes mami watas have a mischievous side, and sometimes a jealous side. If the Mami Wata beleives that the farmers in her area are praying to other spirits they will destroy dykes and ruin crops with flooding.
