These 2ft long aboreal lizards are a dark brown color with dull red stripes running from snout to tail. The Kawakaweau are omnivorous feeding on fruits and smaller lizards and inverterbates, even some smaller mammals. They have a trapjaw of a bite which many prey struggle with as they clamp down.
