Jorogumo

The gold weaver spider of the Oyashima islands is the Jorogumo. Attractive female spiders that mostly reside in the southern forests of the main island. There silk sells for large sums of money. They are predators and while only ever giving birth to other female jorogumo they rely on other species for the continuation of their own.
