These green semitransparent gems are rare and beautiful precious stones. They are hard and durable, but brittle along certain lines.
Emerald is used as a defense against poisons, used in cures and wards alike for various venomous animals. It can also be used to help defend against and cure leprosy. Over all the Emerald is a gem of health and a defense against such things that are necrotic to the flesh.
Their rich green color is said to attract wealth and fortune to itself, so emeralds are many times used to attract money or in wealth type majics.
