The Egbere is a small spirit of the forest. It carries a mat of riches with it in which it keeps its powers. If you are able to steal the rolled mat the Egbere will haunt you for days crying its mournful cry until its mag is returned. If you can with stand the tears the Egbere will give up and leave to create a new mat, which will free the mat to work for you. Killing the Egbere before they relinquish the mat removes the magic making it just a mat.
