Draugr

Very Hard Challenge Rating

Surrounded by their grave goods these borrow dwellers rest in their cairns until adventurers or theives disturb them. These revenants greatly resemble their living selves, only more gaunt and drawn, their skin dried and their hair scraggly with the ages. Draugr will purser the theives of their grave goods until destroyed. For those that steal by guile it takes continually outrunning the intelligent dead as they pursue, but for those of might defeating a Draugr and gaining it's horde can be both a boon or a curse. For many a draugr blade is cursed by it's long years held by the dead, some can only be used for a single purpose before being returned, and some can be considered reclaimed by lost family or descendents of the Draugr. Many of the stories of their hordes are as varied as these guardians that hold them.
