Cog Ships

The main form of water transport on the seas and water ways. Cogs tend to have low drag and flatter bellies which allow for some river transport and make it easier to transport animals and people. But the flatter drag and less of a keel make deeper ocean travel a more dangerous predicament causing most cogs to hug to the shores or atleast stay within close sight of them. Never mind the larger creatures that call the open waters their home, creatures that would see the cogs as simple floating barges of food.
While most Cogs do have various polearms, many of them also keep firearms, crossbows, and bows as ranged weapons. As Cannons while powerful can tip the boats, or take up a large amount of weight that can be used for goods or supplies. Most Cogs have Crossbows as their main form of offence as the worry of keeping gunpowder dry, or the rust out of barrels is lessoned.
