Cinnabar

Cinnabar is a bright red to brick red crystal usually incased in white quartz. This Crystal is often used to make beautiful carvings and decorations. When powdered it is used to make deep dark red dyes or rouge when used in makeup. It has also been mixed with glaze laquers to produce truly bright pigments on ceramics. Cinnabar is also quite toxic and can be used as a posion, precautions must be made when using it in powdered form as the ingestion of the dust can cause symptoms from dizziness, nausea, to memory problems, to liquifying of organs, to death.
Cinnabar is also the raw ore of Quicksilver, during processing the powdered Cinnabar is heated until it is consumed in the flames where a condenser collumn is used to catch the vapours that turn into the liquid quicksilver, which is then usully gathred in Iron containers.
