They are old twisted Hags that sneak into slave or worker compounds as the old medicine and healers, then at night they peel off their skin and ride their victims. Feeding on the breath of the victim as they hold onto the spittle leaking down the cheek as a bridle. Then when daylight starts to come they slide back into their skin and continue keeping thier victims alive as long as possible to continue feeding. A Boohag will slowly suck the strength and souls out of all the victims leaving the dead in their wake before moving on to a new group of the dregs of society to hide inside.
