This short stocky mammal like lizard ranges from the size of a 3foot long 2 foot high, to 8 foot long and 4 foot high. Their flat, squarish head has two extending tusk like fangs and flat like beak used for digging up roots and tubers along muddy banks. They reside and sleep in dug burrows where they pile rotting logs and swamp plants to increase the temperature of their homes.
