Astrography
Atheron is a water world with four major continents and a plethora of island groups. In the solar system, there are three large gas giants in relatively close orbit – visible from Atheron as small, circular planets in the sky. Atheron has a large moon (Meia) that has its own small satellite (Amatreya) that shows bright red when visible to the sides of Meia, but shows as a dark disc when in front of the moon itself. Rarely, there is a conjunction of a glowing Amatreya in front of Meia.
There is also a significant debris disc in the ecliptic plane, producing relatively large numbers of asteroids on Atheron. Atheron does have a significant axial tilt and elliptical orbit, producing notable seasonal shifts in climate.
