Surprise School Report 3/7/2021

General Summary

[remote session]
The party started off in the small port town Janic. Most of the team goes right to bed, but Aster and Lysander stay up to drink. Bagni goes out to pray, and ends up praying in an ally way.
Aster notices two people who are watching Lysander and Aster. Lysander buys them drinks and the group tries to mind their own business. Bagni eventually joins the two for drinks after praying, but the tavern is now full at this point and there are no seats at the bar. A sailor, Fen Ulvcreen, notices Bagni standing and offers up his seat. He tries flirting with her (not very well) and his friends poke fun at him for his attempts. Bagni is receptive towards it. and when she shows some interest his friends leave the two alone. Bagni eventually leaves the bar with him to his apartment. Lysander and Aster let he go.
The following morning Bagni sneaks out before Fen wakes up. She meets up with everyone for breakfast. Thirsten nervously asks if the party can keep a secret and tells them not to tell anyone about his fire breath, especially his father. He doesn't go too into it but points out he is a green dragon and should have poison breath, NOT fire. The group agrees to keep his secret. Lysander gives  Thirsten the Cube to distract Thirsten and make him feel better.
They take a barge to Goldridge. They notice a noble on the barge who is fleeing from Sonborough. The bay seems to be full of ships. Especially navy ships. At port, an acolyte, Jaq, recognized Thirsten and stalls him the council has been looking for him and needs him immediately. they are having a meeting and are expecting news and info of Thirsten's expodition.
Aster follows behind stealthfully. The group follows farther behind. They change into their fancy digs to get into the upper city. Oisin and the group run up to catch Thirsten so Oisin can cast a spell on Thirsten to link all of them mentally. He just gets to Thirsten in time and the group pretends they are chasing Cerberus as their reason for running. they attract the guard's attention doing this, and Aster uses this as an opening to sneak into the courtyard of the Temple of Io where Thirsten is meeting with the council.
Aster disguises himself once inside but stays sneaking. he hears the conversation of the meeting going on. The council members and generals are talking about the disaster that is Sonborough. 1/2 of the population has been wiped out. Soren (Thirsten's father) asks for thirsten to give a report on the mite masks. Thirst lets them know that the mites are related to mimics and live in mimic colonies. that they need to go to the caves that they were born in to reproduce. and that they can communicate to their parents and host telepathically. the council wants to know WHO is using the mites, but Thirsten doesn't know. They also ask for the location of the mite mask colonies, but the party tells him not to tell just yet since the council wants to send groups into the Underdark to find them and possibly wipe them out. Thirsten lies and buys some time, saying he will provide locations, he just needs to go through his notes. Thirsten is dismissed and meets back up with the party.
the party talks some more and they decide to go on their way and leave Thirsten to his studies. They all need to figure out a few things.
