Elemental Magic

While the deities know the secrets of elemental magic, the true masters of the art are the dragons. They are creatures of the different elements and understand more completely the nuances of their element. After the war, the bards became elemental spellcasters. Over the years, they have become masters of elemental magic among mortals and the dragons have even shared knowledge with the bards. Other spellcasters may use elemental magic but only bardic magic comes directly from the planes. Bard spells are linked to music, specifically magical poems that use True Names to produce the desired effect. Everything in existence has a True Name and bards learn these names to master magic.
