Torrents

When elemental energy collects in a body of water it can take the form of a torrent. These elementals are not confined to oceans and seas, they are at least as common in lakes, rivers, and streams as anywhere else. Constantly churning and swirling up to the approximations of arms and a head before falling back into the water it came from, they are known to flip fishing boats and drag unwary swimmers beneath the waves. More or less impervious to conventional weapons, they struggle mightily to hold together when struck with a burst of sound or similar shockwave. Torrents are also confined to water sources to keep replacing the material they constantly lose. One may shuffle onto a nearby shore or the deck of a ship, but their time out of the water is extremely limited. When they run out of water, they disperse back into the magical aether.
