Sage of Light (a.k.a. The Life Sage)
The taurian sage of Light, Tahl, toes (for lack of a better term) the line between obedience to one’s lord and defiance of the state religion. He preaches of the sanctity of life and the need for order for their own sake, rather than due to some divine inspiration or spark. Life is fleeting, and fragile even for the likes of elves and dragons, and therefore precious.
Importantly he does not advocate for defiance of one’s lord without just cause, atheism is not anarchism in his mind, however blind obedience perhaps just as inadvisable. Lords should rule fairly, and so long as they do their vassals should obey. But should a lord’s actions turn tyrannical, it is both the right and the duty of the people to overthrow them.
So too does he preach of violence. Though all life is to be revered, absolute pacifism is not a tenable position to hold. Others will seek to do harm to their fellow man, and so it is permitted to defend one’s self and those incapable of defending themselves. Again he says not only is this permitted, but required of his adherents, protecting one’s peers from harm and providing for their well being should be held above all else.

If you see a foreigner freezing in the rain while you have fire and shelter, it is you who has cast them out to die.
