Lady Ilowyen Oakheart
(a.k.a. The Oracle)
In a world where glimpsing into the future is, while certainly not common, an attainable skill, Lady Ilowyen’s gifts might at first seem unremarkable. She is able to see glimpses of the future, like a number of others, correct? But her abilities differ in one extremely important way. Clerics of Primus and Chronomancers see potential futures: events that may come to pass depending on the choices made by sentient creatures. So far as anyone can tell Ilowyen sees THE future. Her visions have always happened, and always in the manner in which she saw them. Once she views time, those events become fixed and inevitable. Now this may strike you as incredibly powerful, and it is, but it comes with two important caveats: Ilowyen cannot control when her visions occur, and she does not necessarily know the context in which she sees them. She always sees events through the eyes of someone else, but beyond that little is understood. Still, there are many who would seek to exploit her gift for their personal gain. It is for this reason that she is sequestered in the watchtower of Faesong. There she is accompanied by the garrison, her personal guard of family knights, and a Chronicler who is charged with recording each of her visions and sending them to the Sands of Time. Why Primus burdened her so, and what part she has to play in the events she views are yet to be seen.
