Irrina
Light Champion of Earth (a.k.a. The Pathfinder)
While the Sunwood Empire was never under the direct rule of the copper dragon, Cuppria, they did enjoy close ties and strong relations. So it was that Cuppria’s daughter, Irrinia, became good friends with the high elves and became familiar with their lands and customs. She frequently would take on the form of an elf to range through the treetops with her friends or attend their moonlit parties. Though staunchly independent, the elves certainly did not mind keeping the Light Champion of Earth as a close friend. So when the dragon curse Viridia invaded with her trolls and turned many of the Faelene against the elves, Irrinia pleaded with her mother to let her go and fight. But the elder dragon, generally averse to fighting in general, reticent to send her daughter into harm’s way, and not wanting to over extend and risk exposing her own lands, refused to engage in the conflict. Instead she shored up their defenses at home and watched from the mountain ridges as the Sunwood burned. Irrinia stood beside her as their draconic vision saw flames arise from town after town and their acute hearing could pick up the screams of elven civilians from miles away. Still Irrinia begged her mother to let her go, if not to fight then at least to liberate survivors. The image of her mother standing, statuesque, and calming saying “Nol'' with no further explanation is permanently seared into the young dragon’s memory. But in turning and flying off down the mountainside to the next lookout point Irrinia missed the single tear that worked its way slowly down the dragon lord’s face. It is said the two have not spoken since that day, but so far as anyone knows Irrinia has not joined up with Lady Ariente and her freedom fighters, nor anyone else. A dragon would be a massive boost to morale as their numbers and supplies continue to dwindle toward nothing.
