Glacials
Water elementals do not necessarily have to be composed of the liquid phase. Glacials form in the far north, where water magic animates the solid ice. Where torrents are nebulous and smooth, glacials are sharp and angular, with jagged icicles protruding all over their forms. Their ice is brittle, vulnerable to shattering if struck with enough force, but is also bitterly cold, able to sap the warmth from the blood of their foes and leave them unable to move and struggling to think. Oddly, they seem attracted to sources of heat. It is unclear if they desire to melt because they are self destructive by nature or if they seek to become something more like torrents. Or it is possible that they dislike the heat and seek to snuff it out, even at the cost of their own continued existence.
