Duke of Port Minor (a.k.a. Copper Counter)

It is generally thought that Port Minor’s name is a slight mistranslation, that it was initially a dwarven trading outpost and the name referenced the ore being shipped out to sea. But now the name is certainly fitting. While certainly a port city, it is no Silverspire, Bluespire, or even Southscape. The Lords Minor (do not let them catch you calling them “Minor Lords”) rule over the city. They are wealthy enough to be invited to all of the important parties and councils, but rarely sit toward the head of the table. Lord Derron, like his forefathers, seeks to improve his family’s station. He is seen as a frugal man to the point of being cheap, overtaxing his citizens and hoarding money. He then spends it on shows of opulence or force, trying to cast a larger shadow than he truly possesses. His current endeavor is seeking a match for his daughter that can improve his station in the empire. There are certainly local suitors, but he aims to catch what he views as a big fish with his pretty, charming girl.
