Blights

Given recent revelations about the floral nature of trolls, it would be reasonable to confuse them with blights. Admittedly the differentiation is subtle, but while trolls are a eusocial collective of sentient moss, blights are composed of ordinary plant matter invested with the energies of elemental earth. These hulking giants of biomass are found in dense forests and swamps, far away from civilization. They are known not to take nicely to invaders into their territory, especially hunters and lumberjacks. But they are also gentle with the natural flora and fauna, apt to cultivating beautiful gardens and hosting birds’ nests and squirrel dens within their vines and branches.
