Asheera Moonborne
Princess of the Frostwood (a.k.a. The Ice Dragon)
Though it is hard to believe now, there was a time when the snow elves were allies of Nixalia the Barbarous. Ages ago one of the white dragon curse's spawn had an affair with a snow elf noblewoman, the product of which was Asheera Moonborne. Though dragonborn, Asheera has led her people for so long they seemingly do not see her horns, fangs, or scales. She is a full snow elf in their eyes, and their most stalwart protector. Legends claim Asheera was one of, or perhaps the very first pegasus rider, and that she fought alongside the Elder Dragons in the Giant Wars. One myth even claims she was a dragon rider, though whether it was her father or some other dragon is unclear, if the tale has any truth to it at all. Still the stories persist, as does her accompanying nickname, the Ice Dragon.
When Nixalia returned to her full power at the dawn of the Dragon Age whatever prior allegiance she held for the snow elves was cast aside in favor of a lust for power and desire to dominate. The white dragon quickly amassed an army of minions and began encroaching on elven territory. By this point Asheera had risen to lead her people formally as one of the eldest and most powerful of their ranks. She did not deign to sue for peace with the Dragon Curse, knowing it to be a futile gesture. Instead she prepared her people for fighting of a fashion the Imperium had not seen in an Age. The stories say she battled valiantly to hold back the invaders, but the heart of her warriors was lost forever the first time Nixalia's newly minted Valkyries took the field. The time of the snow elves as lords of Norinia ended the moment the Valkyries flew over the horizon. Asheera fled with her people as far to the west as possible, where they have taken refuge for years now. The Ice Dragon still rules there with quiet dignity, but as a paltry shadow of her former glory.
