The Crusher

Entry #001

The bottom of the central gravity well, where everything is thrown down. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a flat surface, but rather slightly concave as to make the flesh slide more easily in the processing plant.

The centrepiece that fills almost all the surface is made of a very hard alloy, able to resist the impact of projectiles accelerated from the top floor. A side effect of the gravity, it is constantly vibrating and rotating on itself, which further helps its cleaning.

The surroundings of the disc are filtering grids, geared with electronics to let only raw organesque, pass through. Improper material and metallic equipment is routinely harvested by a sweeper to be melted and reused in the Well's forges. While more brittle, the grids can still take a beating, and the centripetal force of rotation attracts everything to the centre anyway.

Should someone fall down the well and survive, seven maintenance doors are unlocked at all time and lead directly to one-way lifts to higher floors, a better compromise than letting a berserk inmate rampage the most critical equipment of the facility. If the survivor does not leave the premises fast enough, flamethrowers are hidden inside the wall. They are usually used to purge the system should it get clogged, and a rebellious inmate is a clog like any other.
