Record of inmates and the ever-expanding list of their alleged crimes

Originally intended to be a digital record of the names and identities of the inmates and their charges, the concept went out of hand when it was leaked inside the prison. Whether it was willingly or by honest mistake is unclear, but for over an hour every screen displayed the record ranked by the number of crimes committed outside and since their incarceration. When the leak was noticed the display was quickly taken down, but it was already too late, and many inmates actively worked to increase their rank in order to appear in the top 50 displayed, especially when they noticed it was updated in real-time.

Instead of punishing the operator for their mistake, the prison management took into account the increase in organesque production and decided to publish the record as a rank. This new system would not only consider the number of crimes, but use a system of points, more being won by taking down higher-ranked inmates. The gamified slaughter was one of the greatest successes in organesque production, reaching levels never seen before, and ever-increasing as the top rankers position themselves as crimelords, waging war against each other with no other goal than to climb ever higher, to the first place.

Local displays of the record are set on each floor and consider only the inmates at this level, while the global ranking can be accessed through screens embedded in the walls of the central well.
