Cryergy Obsessed

When people came into contact with Cryergy, some of them became obsessed with the material, collecting and hording it.

Symptoms

Cryergy primarily infects people through proximity, releasing ‘spores’ that are inhaled. It can be directly consumed as well, and has hallucinogenic properties when done so.
Addiction: Cryergy has evolved to become extremely addictive to most forms of life, causing them to seek out more in order to further cement its control over them. People can become violent and act aggressively during this stage.
Mental manipulation: As someone possesses more cryergy and spends more time in the vicinity of it, they begin to fall under its influence. This allows the current primary vessel of the cryergy to communicate with them, and preys on certain aspects of their personality in order to make them aid in the infection of others.
Full control: After a certain point, the cryergy within someone’s body is strong enough to fully control them, binding them to the primary vessel’s will completely.

Some powered individuals even had their abilities shift with their growing obsession.

Treatment

Dr K developed a vaccine/cure hybrid that brought the event to a close.

Hosts & Carriers

Stardust Phoenix

Star went through two transformations under the influence of Cryergy:
Cryodust Penguin
“Beauty in revenge”
Reason for infection: Originally Stardust Phoenix. Unintentionally self-inflicted, after seeking cryergy out to make himself a new sword.
Personality: He was tainted by it as it preyed upon his loss to Heatwiz in the Jump tournament. It warped this to become his one driving goal, which Isolde used to manipulate him. Still obsessed with beauty, perhaps more so than the original Stardust, Cryodust views the world in a very different lens than others, seeing himself as dignified and refined, in contrast to his true appearance.
He behaves similarly to Stardust, but his obsession with finding Heat for a “fated rematch” has overridden most aspects, resulting in him being extremely single-minded. While he has no direct quarrel with the other Jumpers, he is still a threat, and an enemy due to his mission of taking on Heatwiz.
Appearance: Very similar to Star, but wearing a tattered three piece suit, and his hair is spiked up, the tips frosted a lighter blue than his usual azure.
Abilities: On top of having a similar master of the blade to Star, Cryodust has the ability to create “ice-tral projections'' of his attacks. This requires a solid or liquid surface to freeze through, but they spawn an iced sculpture of his that mimics his motion before freezing into place.
Cryodust can also swap positions with his projections.
Misc: Due to his warped personality and laser focused desire for a rematch, Cryodust’s first, crudely forged sword remains unnamed. This is in stark contrast to every other sword Star has used.

Cocytus Penguin
“Beauty in betrayal”
Reason for infection: After his loss to Midnight Shadow, Cryodust ate his “sword” of cryergy. This imbued him with significant strength, increased Isolde’s influence (though still not perfect), and more.
Personality: Similar to Cryodust, albeit more manic, prone to fits of laughter, and more susceptible to Isolde’s influence. He finds beauty in betrayal, heralding to his own betrayal of the Jumpers.
Appearance: Somewhat similar to Cryodust, but his spiked up hair is now hanging loose, the hair gel having long since worn off. His body has many cryergy-reinforced burn marks from his lost duel with Midnight Shadow, and his neck glows blue under the skin from the damage done while ingesting his sword. His arms and legs are reinforced by gauntlets of ice, and he has two large demonic wings sprouting from his back.
Abilities: While Cocytus maintains the ice-tral projection of Cryodust, his are significantly more potent, functioning as “living” golems of ice in the image of a bat-winged demon. He can still swap places with these, but can also have them act independently from his own actions.
Misc: Wields two swords of cryergy-enhanced ice called Antenora and Judecca.

Dusk Raizen

"Just wanted to help"
Reason for infection: Willingly went with Isolde, before falling under his complete control.
Personality: While under Isolde’s influence, Dusk is almost emotionless. Some parts of his personality shine through when Isolde is puppeting him directly, but otherwise he is just that: a puppet.
Appearance: Almost unchanged, except for his blue eyes
Abilities: His tether no longer drains himself of power. Secondly, his photon projectiles and other light based attacks are now slower, but reinforced with a freezing ice. Additionally his overall stamina and power is increased.

Heatwiz

"The pallet swap"
Reason for infection: Got got by civilians
Personality: Same as regular Heatwiz
Appearance: Same as regular Heatwiz, his hair replaced with an icy blue mist
Abilities: Instead of adept flame control, Heatwiz has powerful control over a freezing mist he can generate. Working to his benefit, he can freeze things solid in a sheet of ice if he wants to non-lethally take out a target, something in his favour during the Cryergy riots.
Misc: He’s still a dumbass

DJ

"Frozen space"
Reason for infection: Taken by surprised by a scientist in a lab in Erizone.
Personality: Silently craving battle under Cryergy’s command.
Appearance: Similar to normal, with blue eyes.
Abilities: When DJ warps space, he “freezes” the temperature of the space he manipulates. Most notable when he teleports, the point between A and B will be extremely cold.

On top of this, he also has extended energy and control, allowing him to teleport freely with less consequences.
