War of the Gods

Overview

Eight gods exist in the world of Dosjorya. The original Two, Maker and Destroyer. Then the Six came into being, Winter and Summer, Sorrow and Joy, Speed and Strength. The existence of the Six is an imbalance to the existence that should be true with the Two alone. However, the Six wish to also destroy the Two and their influence on the world.

The Myth

Originally two gods existed: Maker and Destroyer. Maker created what Destroyer demolished. Destroyer demolished what Maker created. But Maker made six gods in their image, and before Destroyer could do its part of the cycle, these six gods pooled their powers to create the world. Outraged at the shattering of the eternal cycle, Maker and Destroyer tainted this world with their elements, separating the world a bit from all eight gods.
The Two gods and the Six gods do not wish to erase this world that they all have some influence on. Instead, in the background they begin to fight each other, at times in a realm of nothingness where the Two are One and the Six are weaker, and at times in the realm of the new world, the realm of somethingness. Each god has a physical form that can collapse into a fist sized stone when they emerge from the world.
Over time, the gods grow more crafty and savvy with their tinkering of the physical world, ultimately involving mortals in their struggles. Their methods are far too complex for mortals to understand, but the gods wish to diminish the influence the other gods on the physical world.
