Influence of the Gods
Overview
Though no god can truly shape the land at will because the Two and the Six all have a hand in shaping it, the powers of each god aid in maintaining a natural balance, ensuring no single element runs rampant.Description
Because of how the land evolved during early formation, it relied on the presence of all eight gods to maintain a balance. Because it is tainted by the Two, the world cannot be crafted or altered at will by the Six, only influenced to a lesser degree. The same applies to the Two. All eight gods have a physical element and are as follows:- Maker: water
- Destroyer: metal
- Summer: heat
- Winter: cold
- Joy: light
- Sorrow: electricity
- Speed: wind
- Strength: earth
Eternal War
Most believe the gods, or at least the gods of the Six, do not wish for the world to exist any longer. For the Six, creating the world allowed them to break away from the cycle of creation and destruction overseen by the Two, Maker and Destroyer. This began the war between the Two and the Six, with the Two making the next move: tainting the world with their elements so that the Six would lose total control of their creation. An unintended consequence was that this taint helped to create a habitable world. Numerous times in the eternal war, the Six have sought to destroy their world and start anew in an attempt to gain ground against the Two. Though the gods of the Two have as weak of a connection with the world as the Six, they appear to seek the salvation of the world from disaster because doing so keeps the Six tied to the war and directs them to fight the Two, a fight that no side can ever win.
