Emperor Codalix Yannefort Veston
Codalix Veston is the founder, only and current emperor of the Veston Imperium that controls the Dark North of the continent of Andu'ra. In the 3rd Age, he was young adventurer who was often employed with exploring a number of underground caverns searching for resources in The Deep. This led him to discover the first deposits of Magithyst, powerful crystals attuned to the arcane flow. Utilizing his discovery he was able to invent the first functional piece of MagiTechnology: a glove that could channel magic into simple forms, similar to traditional cantrips but cruder and less defined.
As he found ways to refine the technology, he recruited a band of other adventurers under him and outfitted them with his creations. Eventually, this gave way to a small army that he used to conquer and unify the various towns, villages, and encampments throughout the Dark North. With each new territory, he would revitalize and expand with new MagiTechnology and thus won the loyalty of the citizens. By then end of the Conquests of Unification, the people happily welcomed their new ruler. Veston moved the would be capital of the region from the largest settlement in Onsingerion to a new city in the Barrier Peaks named after himself.
As time moved on, talk began of who would succeed the Emperor. Veston had never taken a consort and rumors start circling about the line of succession. Veston himself was said to never trust another to take the reigns of his "great machine" and thus turned to his inventions for the answer. On his one hundredth birthday, he made a speech to the people of Veston where he revealed his new body, one fueled and powered by MagiTech. He announced himself as the Immortal Emperor and declared his rule to be everlasting as the stone above and below them.
While the Immortal Emperor is rarely seen, there is no doubt he still rules from the Crimson Chambers deep within the capital city.
