Flux fields

There are three Flux fields on Domu, all of them created by large meteors and only present in their respective craters. The most well known of the three is located far north, on the north pole of Domu. The meteor that hit there created a crater large enough to hold an entire ocean and that ocean is today called Aurora seas.   No one has been able to locate the exact source or cause of the Flux fields but it is believed that the meteors had some unique ultra-magnetic metal deposits that were scattered in the craters on impact.   Due to the Flux field in Aurora seas and the one furthest to the south the sea is hard to navigate westward and it is almost impossible to pass the west continent to the Grand Ocean.

Manifestation

In the Aurora seas bright dancing lights can be seen in the sky when it's dark enough. Not visible at all during the summer months when the midnight sun is present and visible with varying strength during the darkest winter months and dark nights.   This light is what gives the Aurora sea its name and what makes it the most well known of the three locations.   Other manifestations, present on all three locations is the strong magnetic fields that makes electrical equipment go haywire or just completely stop working. This makes navigation and communication hard and even impossible at times.   Some individuals even get headaches, disorientation, and feel sickly when entering or spend too much time in a Flux field.

Localization

The flux fields are contained in three separate location. The same strong magnetic effect can not be felt anywhere else on Domu and no-one have been able to recreate the same effect artificially.    The three Flux field locations are
  • Aurora sea, the largest and most well know of the three. Located far north on the pole of Domu.
  • The Equatorial Flux field, Located on the west coast of the western continent, close to the equator. This is also the smallest of the three.
  • The Flux field close to the South Central sea. Not far from the south pole.
  • Type
    Natural
