Emberi (em-ber-eye, or em-ber-ee)

The Emberi (both singular and plural), Ako's creation, are the majority of the people that live on Domhan. They are as varied as the world they inhabit; when Ako created them, it gave them a variety of traits and appearances. Despite this variety, since all Emberi are the creations of Ako, they consider themselves to be of one race. Hatred stems mostly from which Veika they follow; not from their outward appearance.
All Emberi are saddled with a Regret; a memory so painful that it is very hard for them to ignore it. Because of the way reincarnation works in Domhan, this Regret need not originate from the current incarnation; indeed, many Emberi have to struggle with a Regret that is born from one of their previous incarnation's actions.

Creature type. You are a Humanoid.
Age. No Emberi can ever naturally age beyond 100 years.
Size. You are Medium or Small. You choose when you pick this race.
Speed. Your walking speed is 30 feet.
Regret. When creating an Emberi, you must create an accompanying Regret for them. The rules are on the "Regret" page.
Recall Knowledge. As a bonus action you may call upon the remnant memories of your soul by asking a question about the current situation. This question may be related to a location, monster, person, or item you can see. Then, you must roll a flat 1d20. This check cannot be Helped, but it otherwise behaves as a skill check with no attribute or skill assigned to it (meaning you can use Bardic Inspiration on it, for example). If one of your past lives would justifiably know about that particular subject, you have advantage on the check. If your check is successful, you obtain at least one sentence of truthful information related to your query. Whether you succeed or fail, once you've used this feature to ask a question about a subject, you can't use this feature for the same subject until you finish a long rest.
Subrace. The Emberi are varied, and the nation they were born in (or, more accurately, the nation their current body is from) influences some of the traits they have. Choose one subrace, listed below.
