Wayland Smith

Wayland was a veteran smithy who was once a city guard in Vallaki. After leaving the guard Wayland apprenticed with a dwarven adventurer Tyrion who was trapped in Barovia was a weaponsmith. Wayland produces all of the weapons for the Vallaki guard and is able to craft shields and ringmail armor, but is not proficient enough in armorsmithing to make heavy armors.
Wayland was sympathetic to the Wachter cult. He did not ascend to magister level as he was unable to learn spellcasting, but was strong of arm and endurance.

Ledgers found at Das Anwesen by the party inciminate him in smithing many "daggers" in large quantities to the Wachter family, though the books clearly seemed cooked.

Wayland was captured by the party and held prisoner at the Vallaki Burgomaster Estate during the Wachter coup.
