The Ladies Three

Old gods of Barovia worshiped by the Forest Folk prior to the valley being conquered by Strahd von Zarovich.   The party first heard of The Ladies Three in some oral history of the land from Rina of the Tser Pool Encampment. She identified The Ladies Three as benevolent spirits of the land worshiped by those who started settlements and the nomadic hunters and gatherers of the woods.   The party received additioanl information about The Ladies Three at Yesterhill from the Druid Chulainn. The original inhabitants of the valley worshiped Fey goddesses known as The Ladies Three. The druids of old built 3 Fanes as cites of worship. A fane at the forests edge to the Forest Fey who oversaw the plants and the animals. A fane along a river to the Water Fey who oversaw the waters and the rains. A fane atop Yesterhill overlooking the highest mountain over the valley in honor of the Mountain Fey Luna the Huntress.   New static settlements appeared and the druids remained important religious and civic leaders. However, the settled villages brought new gods and goddesses with them the Morning Lord and the Mother Night. The old ways of the druids and Fey were slowly replaced in favor of these new dieties.   Eventually when Strahd came to the valley to conquer the enemies of his father he took over the valley. He captured the mountain fey and the druids attempted to rescue her. They failed and over the centuries the druids began to accept Strahd as their diety as he had become the land and the Fey are no where to be seen.   Chulainn hopes to revive the old ways, to cleanse Yesterhill, and restore the mountain fey the Huntress Luna.
