Krezk

Krezk is a Barovian village in the north western area of the Valley of Barovia. The village is surrounded by stone walls and is nestled under a cliff-side abby situated in the foothills of the Baratok Mountains.

Prior to arriving at Krezk the party was aware of some aspects of the town:
  • The adventerer log for the Silvered Six mentioned it as a relgious settlement dominated by an Abby.
  • Avicenna mentioned her sister found some spring water with mysterious alchemical properties at Krezk.
  • Napoc was informed by Avicenna of a powerful Abbot at the Abby of St. Markova who may be able to cure Krysis of Lycanthropy.
  • While traveling to Krezk the party met a vampire hunter Ezmirelda who indicated she was attempting to gain access to the Abby at Krezk to do research in the library there to see if she can figure out where her former master Rudolf van Richten may be located.

  • Upon arriving at Krezk for the first time the party was denied entry. There were posted guards who identified Krysis as a Lycanthrope and the party as the murderers of some villagers sent to attempt to trade wool for wine at Wizards of the Wines. The Burgomaster indicated he didn't want any bloodshed and that Krezk was closed to outsiders and asked the party to please leave.

An exasperated Ezmirelda indicated she was going to leave for the Abby and ask the party not follow her lest their reputation preceed here there as well and departed the party. During the exchange with the Burgomaster and the guards of Krezk the party identified an alternative lead which ultimately led to the Werewolf Den.

The party raided Krezk with the werewolves of the den. In the melee the Burgomaster Demtri Krezkov was slain in battle. The party fulfilled their mission collecting supplies for the werewolf den and continued through the streets to a pool and small shrine to the morning lord. Lerak destroyed the gazebo with a fireball revealing a magical book burried burried shallowly under the surface the gazebo stood. The book was revealed to be a book titled I, Strahd and seems to be a magical item prophesied by Lady Eva.
