Enclave of the mind

The Enclave of the mind as it is known to most is an organization dedicated to the gathering of knowledge through whatever means necessary. Most citizens of the various kingdoms only know of their surface dealings of teaching and the spreading of knowledge but secretly they worship a cosmic eldritch being known as Mhug'ultoth.
Mhugh'ultoth is the eldritch god of knowledge and arcane secrets. To those that revere him he is an infinitely powerful presence, those that are permitted to commune with his great mind often find themselves writhing in pure ecstasy as he extracts the knowledge they bring. His followers have a strange addiction to offering their knowledge as the cultists find the process of extraction immensely pleasurable, almost akin to intercourse. Those that bring sufficiently rare secrets are permitted to ascend to his realm to serve as his servants for eternity, this is considered the highest accomplishment among the enclave.
The means his followers gather knowledge are more often than not heinous and sinister. But a few of their methods include kidnappings of magic users and followers of the cardinal four. They maintain large archives of magically preserved brains as a method of storing the knowledge they acquire along with the usual papers and books.
The enclave has its claws within many of the various religious, scholarly and governmental organizations across the world in order to keep tabs on the goings on and to screen for potential subjects. Their main means of acquiring unsuspecting victims are the various schools and universities across the world as they contain the most learned of minds.
