These creatures that live on the earth with the humans and Essen. Some are used for the bettering life, others gathered and hunted, while others are simply avoided at all costs.
Created after the Essen but before the humans, monsters have a huge stake on the state of the world, and some would say rightfully so. Many species have been discovered to be an Origin Species, rendering them impossible to drive into extinction.
To the more dangerous monsters, Essen and Humans tend to keep their populations down, if nothing else to keep their own lives some semblance of peace.

Without a doubt, everywhere in the world, there is a few variants of Bushrats or Bushworgs, as they were perhaps one of the first Origin Species. While generally docile, bushrats are a wellknown monster, and some would say universally recognized by it's call. Mons is the abbreviation for most of the gentler, simple monsters, though many, like the Ardusan people, typically will refer to them purely as monsters to keep them clear and a constant threat.
