Gremelh Root
A mystical plant found in snowy plains and fields in Ardus, the cup part of it is hot to the touch, and captures snow, creating fresh water for those that happen across it.
The roots are warm, but the cup is where all the myst and heat comes from.
Used in culinary dishes, ground into a fine powder, quite spicy. Has become a popular export from a lucky traveler or savvy merchant that roam the Klodargo Mountains.
The cup is sliced thin to preserve, in cold dry freezers and can live for another 6-8 months if the temperature remains the same without its roots. With the cup at it's full size, it can only last a few days without its roots.
While rather rare, they can be found after a strong blizzard, as the roots can't withstand the strong winds and the cup itself will be seen as it melts nearby snow around it for the first few.
"Three cups of Gremelh, hah! That's nothing. I've drinken 8 cups in a minute once! My sister gathered them all and i drank them quick. It was hard to balance them with only two of us and not spill, but we managed. I forgot about a week. Tried to go to Roots of Shudar and they shooed me for coming too early in the day.
Hm? Worth it? I suppose it was tastier than normal water... but... I wouldn't do it again. Don't need to brag about drinking 9 cups and forgetting Suda herself.-cautious daredevil teenager"
There are many tall tales and stories about the Gremelh Root and it's cupped flower.
One true one is when children will say drink from three cups within an hour, and the forth will make you fall into a forgetful stupor, making you forget your own mother's name. It wears off within a few hours, but for travelers desperate for a drink and without knowledge of the story, a few hours can lead them far off the path.
The truth is the sudden surge of myst entering the system from the cup causes the body to overwork, gathering the natural myst in the body to combat the new, and it slows down functions of other systems. Once the myst is etiher expelled or absorbed into the body, things return to normal. There have been notable other symptoms when taking in large amounts, upwards of seven or eight cups, but the memory loss seems to be the most distressing to the commonfolk.
